MINING FOR GOLD
I heard a powerful story that contains a principle that if you followed I guarantee will transform your life. If you are the CEO or the Sanitation Executive, this principle will catipult your career guaranteed. This is a true story involving oil tycoon Andrew Carnegie.
Word got out that Andrew Carnegie had 43 millionaires working for him at one time. An eager reporter had the opportunity to ask Andrew how he was able to afford to hire 43 millionaires. To which Andrew Carnegie replied that none of the men where millionaires when they began working for him.
After hearing this the reporter inquired how Andrew Carnegie was able to develope these men to the level that they where worth that much money to him. Here is where the POWERFUL PRINCIPLE comes in. Andrew Carnegie said that you develope people the same way you mine for gold. You go in expecting to have to move tons of dirt in order to find a few ounces of gold. You just have to keep in mind what it is that you are looking for.
If you take this same principle and apply it in your own life and career you will accomplish more than you ever thought possible. You have to learn to search for the gold in people and help them remove the dirt. Also, you have to remember that you usually will see much more dirt than you will gold, but the gold is worth a fortune.
I hope that this story will encourage you on your journey towards success and accomplishment on and off your job. If you would like more inspirational quotes and articles click here.

To Busy for Success!
"Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it"Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862)
This is the one quote that most people looking for success need to remember. I personally have fallen victim to a such a strong desire for success that I allow that desire to completely rule my life. I know people who spend all of their time reading and researching success and never get out and do anything to achieve success. Work is key to success. Not just hard work but smart work.

Determining What You Need......
Determining what you really need and want.Do you know what it is that you want out of life? Do you know what you need to help you get everything out of life that you can? I believe that most people do not really know what it is that they want out of life. Most people do not spend enough time determining what they need to achieve more. Here’s a great story that illustrates that most people do not know what they really want or need. The story involves two brothers who were going to each open their own hamburger stand.
It seems the two brothers were quite competitive, and so they had a bet on who…could make the most money from their hamburger stand. The younger brother, George, told Ned that he could have any advantage he wanted for his own hamburger stand.
Ned thought for a minute and said, “All right – I want the best hamburgers in town.”
“Fine,” George said, “Your hamburgers will be better than mine. Now what other advantage would you like?”
“I want the cleanest, nicest-looking restaurant in the entire state.”
“Fine,” George said, “Your restaurant will be the best around. What other advantage would you like?”
“I want the friendliest, best waitresses.”
“No problem. What other advantage do you want?”
“I want the best location for my hamburger stand.”
“You got it-the best location is yours.”
By this time Ned was feeling a bit smug about winning their bet. After all, George had given him every advantage he wanted, so there was no way he could lose.
So when George said, “I would like to have one thing for my hamburger stand, though…”
Ned gladly obliged: “Anything you want, you got it.”
George couldn’t help but smile: “The only thing I want for my hamburger stand is a starving crowd inside it!”
And then he went on to win the bet by a landslide.
So what does the hamburger story have to do with your life? Everything! Most people spend their entire lives pursuing dreams that are not even their own. They pursue other peoples’ dreams because they don’t even know what they want out of life.
Ned thought that he knew what he needed, but George knew what he needed. Do you know what you need to achieve success? Ned thought that many external things would give him the advantage but George realized that it was something on the inside that would make all the difference in the world.

Success One Failure at a Time
Looking back over my life it's strange how for each success in my life there seems to be a failure that contributed towards my success. I've learned that the difference between "success" people and "unsuccessful" people isn't the number of failures in their lives but how they handled their failures. Some of the most successful people of all time have had some very substantial failures in their lives. A great example is Abraham Lincoln. If you haven't studied his life, take some time to check it out. He's a great example of turning negative circumstances into positives.
